Privacy Policy

Last updated: 07/21/2026

Preece Precision operates preeceprecision.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or place an order, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have.

This policy covers information collected through our website. Information collected in person at our shop, over the phone, or in the course of a firearm transfer is handled as described in the “Firearm Transactions and FFL Transfers” section below and under applicable federal and state law.

What information do we collect?

Information you give us

  • Account and order information. Name, email address, billing and shipping address, phone number, and password when you create an account or place an order.
  • Payment information. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor. See “How is my payment information handled?” below.
  • Transfer information. For firearms and other items requiring transfer through a Federal Firearms Licensee, we collect the name, address, and license information of the receiving dealer you select, along with any related documentation.
  • Build and consultation information. Details you provide about a custom build, rifle specifications, or a service request.
  • Communications. Information you provide when you contact us, submit a product review, subscribe to our email list, or respond to a survey.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our site, we and our analytics providers automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Browser type, operating system, and device type
  • Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, referring URLs, and exit pages
  • Clicks, mouse movement, and navigation paths
  • Products viewed, added to cart, and purchased
  • Cookie and device identifiers

Information from other sources

We may receive information from our payment processor (transaction status, fraud signals), our email platform, and shipping carriers.

Firearm transactions and FFL transfers

Because we sell firearms, actions, and other items that require transfer through a licensed dealer, some information is handled differently from ordinary retail data.

  • Firearms and serialized items are shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee, not to your home. You must identify the receiving dealer, and we collect and retain that dealer’s information as part of the order record.
  • The federal firearms transaction record (ATF Form 4473) and the associated background check are completed with the receiving dealer at the time of transfer, not with us through this website. We do not collect Form 4473 information through the site.
  • As a licensee, we maintain acquisition and disposition records and other records required by federal and state law. These records are retained for the periods required by law, which may be longer than the retention periods described elsewhere in this policy, and may be made available to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives or other authorities as required by law.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade customer purchase histories, and we do not provide customer lists to data brokers or to any party for the purpose of compiling records of firearm ownership.

What do we use your information for?

  1. To process and fulfill your orders, including coordinating transfers with your selected dealer, arranging shipping, and handling returns.
  2. To communicate with you about your order, your build, or your service request.
  3. To operate and improve our website, by understanding which pages and products people use and where the checkout process causes friction.
  4. To provide customer support and respond to your questions.
  5. To send marketing emails, if you have subscribed. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
  6. To prevent fraud and protect our business, including verifying orders and identifying suspicious activity.
  7. To comply with legal obligations, including firearms recordkeeping, tax, and accounting requirements.

Do we use cookies and tracking technologies?

Yes. Cookies are small files stored on your device that let a website or its service providers recognize your browser and remember information about your visit.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep items in your cart, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors use our site.

Analytics and session replay

We use Google Analytics 4, deployed through Google Tag Manager, to measure site traffic and ecommerce performance. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors and reports aggregate information about site usage back to us. Information about Google’s practices is available in the Google Privacy Policy.

We also partner with Microsoft Clarity to understand how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay. Session replay creates a reconstruction of your visit, including pages viewed, mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling. This data is captured using first and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies, and we use it for site optimization, security, and fraud prevention purposes. Fields containing passwords and payment information are masked and are not captured. For more information about how Microsoft collects and uses your data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Email marketing

If you subscribe to our email list or check the newsletter box at checkout, we share your email address and order history with Klaviyo, our email marketing platform. Klaviyo also places a script on our site that associates your browsing activity with your subscriber profile once you have identified yourself, which allows us to send relevant messages such as reminders about items left in your cart.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any marketing email. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional emails about your orders.

Advertising

We may work with advertising platforms to show ads for our products on other websites. If we do, those platforms may place cookies or pixels on our site that allow them to recognize your browser and measure ad performance. Any such tools will be listed in the cookie table above and, where required, will only load after you consent.

How is my payment information handled?

We use Authorize.Net to process payments. When you enter your card details, they are transmitted over an encrypted connection directly to Authorize.Net.

If you choose to save a card for future purchases, that card is stored by Authorize.Net using their Customer Information Manager service. We store only a token and the last four digits of the card, which lets us charge a saved card without ever holding the full card number. We do not store complete payment card numbers, expiration dates, or security codes on our systems.

You can remove a saved card at any time from your account page or by contacting us.

Product reviews

If you submit a product review, the content of your review and the display name you provide will be visible publicly on our site. Do not include personal information in a review that you do not want made public.

Do we share your information with outside parties?

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers who help us run the business, including our payment processor, email platform, analytics providers, hosting provider, and shipping carriers. These providers may use your information only to perform services for us.
  • Your selected transfer dealer, for orders requiring an FFL transfer, so the dealer can receive the item and complete the transfer.
  • Legal and safety reasons, when we believe disclosure is required by law, necessary to comply with a subpoena, court order, or regulatory obligation, or necessary to protect our rights, property, or the safety of others.
  • Business transfers, if the business is sold or reorganized, in which case your information would be one of the transferred assets and would remain subject to a policy at least as protective as this one.

Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you may be used and shared without restriction.

How do we protect your information?

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS) across the site, restricted staff access to order data, and use of a PCI-compliant payment processor so that card data does not reside on our systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long do we keep your information?

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services to you, and afterward for the periods required to meet legal, tax, accounting, and firearms recordkeeping obligations.

Analytics data retention is governed by our provider settings. Google Analytics is currently set to retain user-level data for [14 MONTHS / 2 MONTHS]. Microsoft Clarity retains session data for [30 DAYS].

Your privacy choices

  • Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or contact us.
  • Cookies. Adjust your browser settings, or use our cookie preferences link if a consent banner is in place.
  • Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Microsoft Clarity. Microsoft honors the Global Privacy Control signal. You can also opt out through the controls described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
  • Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and access a copy of it
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Obtain a portable copy of information you provided to us
  • Opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects

To make a request, contact us at preeceprecision@gmail.com. We will verify your identity before responding, which may require you to confirm information already associated with your account. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Requests to delete are subject to our legal obligation to retain firearms transaction records and other records required by law. Where we cannot delete information for that reason, we will tell you.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.

Age requirements

This website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

Separately, our products are sold only to adults. You must be at least 18 years old to purchase from this site, and federal and state law set minimum ages for the purchase and transfer of firearms, which the receiving dealer will verify at the time of transfer. Nothing on this site constitutes an offer to sell to any person prohibited from purchasing or possessing a firearm under applicable law.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party sites or services. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. We encourage you to read the policy of any site you visit.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated more prominently where required.
